On the many, many reasons to celebrate

Dear Kid Labbers,

On September 1st, we celebrate our 1 year birthday as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Many of you know this year’s wild journey that has brought us to this point and given us so much to celebrate. For those who don’t, a bit of backstory.

February 2014 kid lab is born

The seedling of the idea for Kid Lab was born out of a desire to connect with other parents (I had a newborn at the time), find a creative outlet, and share play ideas and resources with other families.

January 2016 - September 2018 Art Classes

Kid Lab began to take shape as I offered art classes and summer camps, mostly out of my home.

September 2018 Nonprofit Status!

Kid Lab officially became a 501(c)3 nonprofit! We began operating as a department of a parent organization called Artists in Community Transformation International.

October - December 2018 Assembly Pop-up

Kid Lab hosted pop-up classes in the Warehouse District Assembly space.

January - August 2019 Team is growing

Kid Lab launched new programs and added members to our team.

August 2019 Downtown location

Effective August 31st, our Kid Lab HQ is at 111 E Hargett St, in the Read With Me bookstore. We’re so excited!

What a year, amiright? We have thankful hearts and a staff who’s ready to party! Come join us THIS SATURDAY (8/31) from 2-4 at our new Hargett St. digs. Cookies, crafts, raffles and the Kid Lab spirit we can’t wait to bring you more of!
